Willem Kat Snyman
Willem was born in 1954 in Dewetsdorp East of Bloemfontein in the central region of South Africa.
Aviation and Military Art.
He traces his interest in aviation to his childhood. Knowledge of his subject matter came from reading and model building at an early age. He joined the South-African Army where he gathers valuable first-hand knowledge as an instructor in Armour subjects and aircraft recognition. Although he has painted a wide variety of military subjects, his primary interest is in military aviation; especially South-African Air Force vintage aircraft. He has work on display in the
S A Armour Museum, main entrance. (Development of Armour) and S A Police Services Free State Air Wing.
Wild Life - Besides his interest in aviation he enjoys nature and loves to make sketches of wildlife in pastel.

COMMISSIONED WORK
The Torpedo Recovery and Diving Vessel SAS Fleur (ii) was allocated the pennant number P3148, it was the first operational vessel both designed and built in the Republic of South Africa for the SA Navy.
The vessel served the SA Navy for 34 years before decommissioned in 2004, and currently in civilian service as Fleur Du Cab.
